Alvin Charlery was born in Maynard Hill, Castries, St.Lucia. As a child he was passionate about football/soccer and music. He attended the RC Boys Primary School and Castries Comprehensive Secondary School. He migrated to the USA in 1987 and attended the University of Bridgeport, CT, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in education. It was during graduate school Alvin became passionate about poetry. He has combined his passions as is reflected in his artist name, Poetic Juggler!
